Holiday Gym&Spa

Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue Cebu 6000

HolidayGymSpa

I used to work out here for more than a year, but quit because we moved to Toledo. If we go back, I'd join again. Location is good, in a side street between Crossroads and the Country Club(golf). Lots of free parking spaces available. You can also take jeepney 13C or some of the 62-jeepneys. If taxi, there are usually taxis waiting near the main road, or they can call one for you.

Membership costs (off peak 10am-4pm, anytime in weekends) 6000(4500) for 3 months, 11000(8000)for 6 months and 20.000(15.000) for a year. Sometimes they run promos where they throw in some extra weeks for free. If you're a tourist and staying here a month, you can pay 2500(2000). Opening hours 6am-10pmm Mon-Fri, 6am-8pm Sat and 12-8pm Sun.

Being a member, you get unlimited workout and use of swimming pool, jogging track and wall-climbing facilities. Unlimited attendance to all group exercise classes. Personalized program design if you like. Free use of sauna, shower and locker facilities. You get extra weeks for every new referral.

If you sign up for a minimum of 3 months, they offer free fat analysis and fitness testing, free nutritional counseling and discount on massage(about 25 %) and major services.

They also have a very nice spa here with trained therapists. One hour swedish body massage is 450 peso for members, and it's good - I've used them on a number occasions.

There is also a small cafe where they sell mineral water, and some healthy meals.

The swimming pool is international size and excellent, and there are usually not many people here. It's a great way of working on your tan and muscles. I lost a lot of weight in this pool, used to swim one hour every day. Staying cool while you're working out is great! It's even a nice place to chill out if you just want to relax by the pool. There are sun beds, chairs and tables if you just want to read a book and relax.

Inside there are plenty of machines for you if you want to work out. There are also running and stepping machines, a boxing ring and a walking/jogging track in the second floor, around the building.

The clients are normal people, a mix of foreigners and filipinos. Definately no body buliding environment. Staff is friendly.

Check out their website for more info.

Great information and pictures, Lars. Looks nice and a lot less expensive then the one I was using at the Ayala Mall - they were charging me p550 for single days! I'll definitely check it out when I go back; hope they have decent treadmills like that one does, that's really all I need.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, glad you liked the review. I haven't yet been to the one in Ayala but I know it's more expensive and they don't have a pool.

I'm sure you'll find a good threadmill at Holiday Spa, enjoy your sweating! smiley
